RICO–buffet thought differently

RICO Buffet is a modern, trend-setting buffet restaurant designed to attract urban food enthusiasts looking for variety, quality, and a laid-back dining experience. The challenge was to develop a fresh, engaging brand identity that would stand out in a competitive food market and create a buzz around its grand opening.

A strategic plan was developed to attract RICO’s target demographic, featuring social media teasers with the slogan „Buffet Like Never Before.“ Local awareness was boosted through a pop-up event with influencers and bloggers. In-restaurant branding, including menus and signage, reflected the clean, modern aesthetic. The grand opening event featured live music, curated food stations, and exclusive menu previews for a memorable experience.

Problem

The client wanted to break away from traditional buffet restaurant aesthetics, which often feel outdated and generic. They aimed to target a younger, more design-conscious audience who appreciates both culinary variety and cool, modern interiors.

Solution

I developed a brand identity that emphasized modern minimalism with playful elements to represent RICO’s casual yet sophisticated vibe. This included designing a clean, bold logo, color palette, and typography that aligned with the restaurant’s innovative approach to buffet dining.

The visual identity embraced bright and energetic colors, symbolizing the diversity of flavors and experiences the buffet offers. I also incorporated geometric shapes and iconography that subtly referenced food items in an abstract, contemporary way.
